Neil Cooney

I am a professional pianist and teacher based in Muswell Hill, North London.

studied at the College of Music, Dublin where I was chosen to represent Ireland at the European Music Prize.  I was subsequently awarded a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music, London and received the Anna Instone Award for the outstanding musician graduating from a British conservatoire which was presented by Sir Richard Attenborough.

I have performed extensively throughout Ireland in recital and performed concerti with the RTE Orchestras and appeared on RTE and Channel 4 television.  In the UK I have given several recitals at the Purcell Room, South Bank Centre, London and my recording of works by Schumann and Schubert has been critically acclaimed.

I bring the same level of commitment to my role as a teacher and run a thriving teaching practice from my home in Muswell Hill, as well as holding a teaching position at Highgate School.
